What a great night for our West Coast Premiere at the International Buddhist Film Festival In San Rafael, CA. Over 300 people packed the beautiful Rafael Film Center theater to watch When the Iron Bird Flies: Tibetan Buddhism Arrives in the West. It was a perfect screening and a special night, with applause from the audience at key moments during the film. Anam Thubten was the special guest, introduced by Steven Goodman of CIIS. Editor Catherine Hollander fielded questions from the sold-out audience in Director Victress Hitchcock’s absence, due to surgery. The audience did get to share their enthusiastic applause with the director through an impromptu cell phone call while Anam Thubten was still on stage.
